Lovesick Mules Unable to Produce a Rhinoceros

Oh dear, the holiday for every single couple in this world. VALENTINE'S DAY.

Or, well, 98% of couples. Maybe some people make fun of the holiday for it being so commercial or fake or something. Personally, I don't necessarily enjoy this holiday. It may be because I have "nobody" (so to speak), so no love. At least in that kind of way.

I did get some chocolate from a special friend. Again, thank you very much! My younger sibling ate three of them, hehe. I also got other candies from friends, nothing totally special from a "special" someone. It feels a little lonely, but I get used to it.

I think Valentine's Day is just a more romantic day than other days and nothing else. I mean, when are couples not romantic/lovey dovey each day? There are those days where they argue over petty things sometimes, but in the end, they end up being lovey dovey again. But I guess it's also a day where every guy and/or girl express their total affection/love/whatever you want to call it to each other, new couples and old.

One thing that bothers me are the massive stuffed bears that are given on V-Day. I admit some are very cute (I saw a stuffed hedgehog, something you don't see everyday), but really? I don't want a huge white bear staring at me in my room when I sleep. Maybe I'll hide it in my closet. No, that doesn't work either because it feels like a stalker in my closet. I don't know, a super-sized material gift for that special person just doesn't seem like the "spirit" of V-Day.

Blah. I guess I'll post another day. When I first took this quiz I got cynical, but it sounded way too harsh and so I retook it:

Your Valentine's Day Personality is Heartbroken
Valentine's Day is something you could potentially enjoy, but not this year.
It just brings up too many bad feelings and memories for you right now.

That's the problem with Valentine's Day. It's a double edged sword.
The better it feels when you're in a couple, the worse it feels when you're single.

  1. An interesting take on the holiday, one I happen to share for the most part. I feel that Valentine's Day is like any other day, except commercialized by all the companies which profit from it.

The day has its' origins in the execution of Saint Valentine. What makes him so special from the millions of deaths in his era? Absolutely nothing, it's just convenient for making a holiday.
